The Elements of Citation

These elements provide the information about publications (books, articles, or webpages) that you need in order to cite and create bibliographies. Also, it is sometimes needed to find the actual article in print or online. They are also useful when writing notes on sources and discussing them in your paper.

  • Author(s)
  • Title of article
  • Source (Journal or book title)
  • Date, Volume, and Issue of Journal
  • Inclusive page numbers of article
