BRN Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies Resources: Citation Help & Style Guides

Bibliography Tips

  • Be sure to follow the citation style your instructor has specified for the assignment.  Use it accurately and consistently.
  • Proofread your bibliography against a style guide to eliminate errors.
  • It is important to give credit to books, journal articles, websites and other sources of information you used to create your paper. If you fail to properly cite the sources you used, it is considered plagiarism.

Citation Managers

Although citation managers can be very helpful in organizing sources and creating bibliographies, they are not always accurate.  Remember to ALWAYS proofread your bibliography before submitting it.
