Welcome to the guide for students enrolled in Meg Onoda's mathematics classes for future teachers. I constructed this guide to help you meet one of the requirements of your class: to submit a brief report on one article per month from a professional journal.
The focus of our searching will be to identify and retrieve articles about the practice of teaching and learning mathematics or geometry in the elementary school classroom.
Please visit me in my office in the library for help finding what you need for this class and for any class you take at UW-Manitowoc.
1. Identify best databases to search for relevant articles on your topic
2. Use advanced database features to improve the effectiveness of your search
3. Evaluate search results for their currency, reliability, and relevancy
4. Access and retrieve the full-text of articles you want to summarize
