This guide is intended to introduce the students in Professor Apfelbeck's Education 201 course to the role and responsibilities of school librarians to the larger educational programs in K-12 schools. 

 

Role of the School Librarian/Media Specialist

A study of five high-performing school library media centers in Wisconsin public schools.  Information gathered from interviews/questionnaires given to students, principals, and teaching staff.  Results used to identify best-practices.

Multiple literacies, including digital, visual, textual, and technological, have now joined information literacy as crucial skills for this century." The booklet provides instructional standards for these multiple literacies, usually taught by school librarians.
