WSH Homeschool Info Literacy: Home

Quick guide to general database and library catalog searching including how to evaluate information sources.

What is Information Literacy?

According to the Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL), Information Literacy is the set of skills needed to:

find, retrieve, analyze, and use information.

Most students know how to find at least some information on their topic. In fact, most likely the novice searcher finds way TOO much information on a topic.

Being information literate means you know how to find and use the BEST information on your topic.
